Company History

Baton Rouge Land Surveying (BRLS), A Division of Forte and Tablada Inc., has been one of Baton Rouge's premier land surveying firms with a reputation for fast and dependable service since it was founded in 1985.

Since its inception, BRLS has performed more than 20,000 individual surveys. Our employees are thoroughly familiar with the terrain and geography of East Baton Rouge Parish, as well as surrounding areas. In addition, after acquiring the maps, files, and fieldbooks from several retired surveying firms,BRLS has one of the most extensive private collections of survey maps in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Forte & Tablada hired BRLS to perform the survey field work for a project at the Jackson Barracks in Chalmette, LA. Following this successful team effort, the long range plans and desires of each firm were discussed amongst the principals. Negotiations to merge the two firms culminated in the sale of Baton Rouge Land Surveying to Forte & Tablada Inc. on March 7, 2007.

Baton Rouge Land Surveying has two Professional Land Surveyors on staff, with an additional P.L.S. with Forte and Tablada and two more in Forte and Tablada's BBC Engineering division. Baton Rouge Land Surveying is headed by Wilfred J. "Will" Fontenot, P.L.S., who has over thirty years experience in all phases of land surveying, with more than 25 years of that time as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. True to its history, BRLS continues to have a reputation for treating our clients well and surveying using the latest technology in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.
