In 2005, Forte & Tablada, Inc. was contracted to provide the Structural Engineering Design, Land Surveying and Construction Management for the development of plans and specifications for a new loading dock facility along the Mississippi River in Port Allen, LA. Major design components included a self-sufficient spud barge equipped with an excavator, hoppers, ramps, control house and generator; other components included a conveyor system and staging area.
The scope of this project included Topographic and Boundary Surveys, Electrical Design for power and lighting and Structural Engineering Design for the off loading system. Forte & Tablada finished the survey and design aspects in 2007.
