Civil Site Design for the Fort Jackson Historic Site

Fort Jackson is a decommissioned masonry fort located approximately 70 miles south of New Orleans on the western bank of the Mississippi  River near Triumph, Louisiana. It is now a National Historic Landmark and historical museum owned and operated by Plaquemines Parish.

The Fort and museum have remained closed to the public since being inundated by more than 30 feet of flood waters sustaining significant damage from the Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005 .

Forte & Tablada, Inc. is responsible for the Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Design issues associated with the rehabilitation of the Fort, along with coordinating the Structural and Geotechnical spects associated with the Electrical and Civil Design. The scope of work included the design of two sewer lift stations, design of the moat drainage pump, replacement and relocation of damaged water lines, coordination of sewer investigation and complete replacement of all Electrical and Mechanical components.
