Enterprise Boulevard Extension

PLAQUEMINE, LA

For this project, Forte & Tablada, Inc. was contracted by Iberville Parish to provide all the necessary services in the course of the construction of a new roadway with a subsurface drainage system. This Enterprise Boulevard roadway extension provides a vital connection to residents of the City of Plaquemine between Belleview Drive (LA 75) and Bayou Road (LA 3066). The scope of services for this project included Boundary and Topographic Surveying, ROW Maps, Wetland Delineation, 404 Permitting, initial soil testing and complete Civil Engineering Design of new roadway within the new Right-Of-Way boundaries. In addition, Forte & Tablada acted as the project administrators for the extension, performing Construction Management Services and Planning (site, installation, and project).

Forte & Tablada CEO/President, Ann Forte Trappey, P.E., FACEC was the engineer for this $1.5 million construction project in which design and Right-Of-Way acquisition was completed in only 13 months. The contract was awarded to BJM Construction, LLC of Prairieville in May 2010.

The extension was opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony held by Parish President J. Mitchell Ourso, Jr. and the Iberville Parish Council on April 8, 2011.  Enterprise Boulevard now extends from Choctaw Road to Belleview crossing Bayou Plaquemine and intersecting at Belleview with Tenant Road. It also serves as an evacuation route and a loop around Plaquemine.
